Dengue: Prevention and Cure

Normal flu can be due to a simple viral or bacterial infection. Dengue is a more dangerous form and needs to be dealt carefully. Speaking about the definition of Dengue, the World Health Organisation says, “Dengue is a viral infection transmitted by the bite of an infected female Aedes mosquito. There are four different types of dengue virus – DEN 1, DEN 2, DEN 3 and DEN 4. The symptoms of the Dengue only appear 3–14 days after the mosquito bite and not immediately. Dengue fever is a flu-like illness that affects infants, young children and adults alike.”

Symptoms:

  • High Fever
  • Severe Headaches
  • Pain behind the eyes
  • Severe joint and muscle pain
  • Fatigue and exhaustion
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Skin rash
  • Low blood pressure

Home remedies:

1) Increase Fluid Intake: Take following to keep the desired fluid level in your body:

  • Glucose Water
  • Pomegranate Juice
  • Coconut Water
  • Kiwi Juice
  • Buttermilk
  • Orange Juice
  • Papaya Juice
  • Soup
  • Mile with turmeric

2) Giloy and Tulsi Kadha: Helps in maintaining and increasing platelets count.

3) Papaya Leaves Extract

4) Neem and Tulsi Kadha

5) Jaugrass water/Barney Grass Water
